Candy Kicks: Sneaker Design

In the Candy Kicks Design Challenge, students become sneaker designers and create a shoe inspired by the colors, shapes, and personality of candy packaging. They’ll explore color theory, branding, composition, and product design while creating a sneaker that tells a visual story.

Prep & Classroom Structure

Before class, print the sneaker templates and place pencils, colored pencils, and markers at each table. If helpful, display a few candy wrappers or packaging examples and briefly point out their colors, repeated shapes, fonts, and simple icons before students begin.

Encourage ideas rather than drawing the design for students. The goal is creativity, not making every shoe look the same.
